The Westend Consulting Ltd ("Westend", "we", "us") is a Nigerian property company based in Lekki, Lagos. We are the data controller for the personal data we collect through this website, our client and tenant portals, and our day-to-day property services. This notice explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.

Who we are

The Westend Consulting Ltd, Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria. You can reach our office at thewestendconsultinglekki@gmail.com or westendconsultinglekki@gmail.com, or by phone or WhatsApp on +234 906 029 9748. We are the controller of personal data processed through this site and our services.

Personal data we collect

  • Account data — your name, email address and password when you create an account to use the landlord, tenant or admin areas of the site.
  • Tenancy and property data — tenancy records such as your estate, house number, tenancy start and end dates, and the rent and service charge amounts due from you.
  • Application data — details you give us on a tenancy application form, including contact details, employment or guarantor information, and the property you are applying for.
  • Payment data — records of rent, subscription and service payments, including amounts, dates and payment references. Card details themselves are handled by our payment providers and never stored by us.
  • Enquiry and communication data — messages you send through enquiry forms, maintenance requests, live chat conversations, email, phone or WhatsApp.
  • Usage data — device and browser information, pages viewed, and how you use the site, collected through analytics and essential cookies.
  • Listing submission data — contact details, property information and photographs you submit when listing a property for sale or rent.

Why we use your data, and our legal basis

  • To provide the services you asked for (contract) — creating your account, showing your rent and payment history in the tenant portal, managing tenancies, processing maintenance requests, and marketing your property if you are a landlord.
  • To take payments and keep accounts (contract and legal obligation) — recording payments, issuing receipts, reconciling rent ledgers and meeting Nigerian tax and accounting requirements.
  • To operate and improve the site (legitimate interests) — keeping the site secure, preventing fraud and misuse, understanding which pages are useful, and sending service notices such as rent reminders and maintenance alerts.
  • Marketing and follow-up (consent, where required) — responding to your enquiries about properties and services, and contacting you about viewings and offers.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time by contacting our office.

Who we share data with

We share personal data only with the categories below, and only as far as needed:

  • Service providers (sub-processors) — our hosting, database, email-delivery, analytics and AI live-chat providers, who process data on our instructions to run the site.
  • Paddle.com — our online reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle handles checkout, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing for subscriptions and one-off fees sold through the site.
  • Paystack — used for rent and service-charge payments made in naira from Nigeria.
  • Property owners (landlords) — where you are a tenant or applicant, the landlord of the property you rent or applied for sees your tenancy record, payment status and maintenance requests for that property.
  • Professional advisers — lawyers, accountants and auditors, under confidentiality.
  • Authorities — regulators, tax authorities or law enforcement, where we are legally required or entitled to disclose.

International transfers

Our service providers and payment partners may process data outside Nigeria, including in the UK and EEA. Where personal data leaves your country we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the provider's certification under recognised transfer frameworks or standard contractual clauses, so your data keeps substantially the same protection.

How long we keep data

We keep personal data only as long as we need it: account and tenancy records for the life of your tenancy or subscription and for the period afterwards that Nigerian law requires us to keep financial records (typically six years); application records for up to two years unless a tenancy follows; live chat transcripts and analytics data for up to 24 months. When data is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act and, where you are in the UK or EEA, the GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; ask us to delete data we no longer need; restrict or object to processing; ask for a portable copy of data you gave us; and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. We respond to requests within one month. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, or to your local supervisory authority if you are in the UK or EEA — though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

To exercise any right, email thewestendconsultinglekki@gmail.com.

Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data: encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls so staff and landlords only see data they need, and vetted hosting providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we design our processes to limit the impact of any incident, and we will notify affected people and regulators as the law requires.

Cookies

The site uses: essential cookies and storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences between visits; and analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working. We do not run advertising cookies.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. The date above shows when it last changed, and significant changes will also be announced on the site or by email to account holders.
